About

Who is Danny Duncan? How old is Danny Duncan? Danny Duncan was born on July 27, 1992 (age 30) in Englewood, Florida and has two siblings:  a sister (Gwen) and a brother (Scott).  His mother, Susan Davis, and father, Scott Duncan, split when Danny was still very young.  His mother worked as a bartender and at other jobs to provide for her children, which may explain Danny’s giving spirit.  In addition to making people laugh, he especially enjoys helping people who need it most.

As a youth, Danny attended Myakka Elementary School, L.A. Ainger Middle School, and Lemon Bay High School, all in Florida.  He preferred sports to academics, so it’s no surprise that his favorite class was P.E.  He was a good athlete and played on the Lemon Bay Trojan’s baseball team. He was also a member of the school’s wrestling and track teams and ran cross country.  He devoted a lot of time to perfecting his skateboarding moves as well, an activity that proved to serve him well later. After graduation, he attended the State College of Florida, but dropped out due to boredom.  He got a job at Walgreen’s, but quit that after a brief period, too, for the same reason.  After working at a few other odd jobs, Danny was hired by actor Jason Lee to teach him some of his skateboard moves for a movie Jason was going to be in.  Lee appreciated Danny’s charismatic personality and over-the-top sense of humor and encouraged him to become an actor himself, advising him to get exposure via Instagram and his own YouTube channel.  And, with that, a star was born.

Today, Danny splits his time between Florida and Los Angeles, California, where he purchased a new home for $3.5 million about a year ago.  He remains single and is fairly private regarding his relationships.  He reportedly hooked up with another popular YouTuber, Lindsey Bell, for a while a few years ago, and one October 2020 report had him in a relationship with a woman named Valentina Guerrero, but that may simply be rumor.

Career Information and YouTube Sub Count

Taking Jason Lee’s advice, Danny Duncan launched his YouTube channel on March 6, 2014, when he was 21 years old.  The majority of his videos consist of outrageous pranks, designed to make the viewer laugh. As of this writing, Danny has uploaded 366 videos and has a sub count of 5.47 million subscribers.  One of his most-viewed videos, with over 30 million views to date, “Falling With 30,000 Pennies,” depicts him fake-tripping with a wheelbarrow full of pennies, spilling them all over the floor in a public place, and then lying down in their midst to make the equivalent of “snow angels” out of them.  Its popularity encouraged Danny to produce an updated version of it about a year ago: “Falling with 40,000 Pennies.” That video has already garnered 5.1 million views. One of his more recent videos, “Taking Horse to a Dog Park,” is hilarious.  The majority of his videos appeal to males 24 years-of-age or younger, perhaps due to their raucous humor.  He has also uploaded interview-style videos in which he uses a persona by the name of Gary Winthrop.

In 2017, capitalizing on the success of his YouTube venture, Danny established a line of clothing and accessories—”Virginity Rocks”—that soon produced a steady source of income for him.  Today, this line is sold in Zumiez, an American chain store, in addition to being sold online.  Danny has also used some of his income to purchase a duplex, which generates rental income for him.

Philanthropy

From perusing his videos, we do know that he gives a lot of his money away.  In addition to buying his mother a new house and his sister and his manager new cars, he paid one man’s rent for a year.  Upon learning that a 16-year-old he met at a skatepark had taken a job at a Jack-in-the-Box to help support his family when his father had to have surgery that would have him laid up for three months, Danny paid for three months’ rent for the family and got the teenager started in his own business with the purchase of a Charros food truck. In December 2020, he partnered with the Charlotte County, Florida sheriff’s department and handed out $2,500 checks instead of tickets to the people they pulled over.  In that same video, he awarded a brand-new car to a down-on-her-luck grandmother.  Also, in December 2020, he sponsored the Danny Duncan sweepstakes, with a new Tesla as the grand prize.

All of the above are laudable actions, but the point is, it’s difficult to estimate how much of his earnings Duncan has kept and invested to build his own net worth.  He is, however, currently working on a financial app in pursuit of his goal his to become a billionaire, so one hopes he has created a financial plan for himself.  I, for one, am rooting for him.
