He had an older brother, Dontay Banks Jr, better known as DThang, who was killed outside a Chicago club. Lil Durk has six children and was previously engaged to his longtime girlfriend, India Royale, an American fashion blogger.

Lil Durk’s father was jailed when he was only seven years old for drug charges. Owing to that, he had to shoulder many responsibilities at a young age. In one of his interviews, he recalls his family facing financial hardships, and at times meals were hard to come by.
